Cairo's 1st Swim Meet of the Year

Cairo did great in her first meet of the year. She was in the 25m Freestyle, 25m Backstroke and swam 25m Freestyle in a relay. We were so proud of her and she had such a great time competing and cheering for her teammates. She has another meet in Dubai this Thursday.

Doesn't This Make You Want To Come to Abu Dhabi!!!

I absolutely love to go an watch the camel jockeys train the camels out at the race track. They are so excited to see people who are interested in watching them. One of these guys even said he would "love me forever!"
We took Florence out to show her and there were so many beautiful camels all cleaned up and training on the track. It was as fun as it is every time!

Florence Visits from Vienna

Our dear friend Florence is here visiting from Vienna. She is a long-time family friend and lived with us in Provo two summers ago. She is here for a week before she goes back and begins her medical studies.

Our Chef-Sam

The kid's school requires them to set a personal goal to work on each year. Both Sam and Cairo chose to learn how to prepare a healthy meal for the family. Sam was so excited about his new goal that he prepared dinner that night for us. He cooked French Toast, bacon, fresh fruit and juice..Some may question the nutritional value of the meal but we figure we hit each of the food groups at least!

Our Pet Turtles..Sheldon and Meldon..

We think they might be in LOVE. They sit most of the day on each other's backs...waiting to be fed. They are easy and cute pets for the kids.

Cairo's Swim Practice...109 degrees outside...She's a smart girl to choose swimming as her sport!

Cairo's swim practice Sept. 20th.

Finally I figured out how to post a scrapbook page. This has been a quest since I started the blog. Watch out. Now you will be tired of the Cooks!

Visiting Sargon at his pad in Dubai

Our dear friend Sargon was in Dubai to relax for the weekend. He works in Kabul running several of his own businesses and maintains a place in Dubai so he can get a brake now and then. We decided to invade his peace for the weekend and spent the night at his place playing and catching up with one of our favorite people. The kids adore him and Brad and I have known him our entire relationship. Brad actually knew Sargon as a kid in Saudi Arabia. They attended the same American school. Their paths crossed again several years later when Sargon tracked Brad down in Cairo and hired him to direct the HR portion of Bechtel's contract to put out the oil fires from the 1st Gulf War in Kuwait. Since then, Sargon has been part of the family. It's always a treat to be with Sargon. He spoils us and kids rotten and we do our best to return the favor, impossible as it is.

Fun Times at Sargon's Pool

We started at 8am to avoid the heat. It was already over 100 degrees but the pool was well chilled and we had a great time. A great way to start the day!

Chicken Fight!!

The kids and Sargon make a plan to dump Brad in the pool!

The Plan

The Execution

SUCCESS!

Fun on Sargon's Playground
